Outbreak!

We made it home from Mexico today. I just want to report I do not have Swine Flu. I repeat I do not have Swine Flu. I am safe to be around. In fact, I didn't even know what was going on until we made it home to my in-laws house. We saw a few people wearing masks at the airport in Mexico but that was all we saw at 4 different airports. For those of you who are still leary of me I was and still am a very good handwasher!

Fun with the cousins

Cam & Erin and family got to come and spend a couple nights with us. Lets face it though - the kids were mostly excited to see Gavin and Quincy. The bunny and chickens are always a hit for those city folk!

Update on the chicks! They are growing very FAST! They have been moved to outside during the day. You will find them wondering around our garden and under our porch. We had some great spectators after church yesterday. The kids really hope the dogs don't find them - me well, I guess that is part of survival of the fittest!

Happy Easter

All of our girls wore their dresses from the wedding on Easter Sunday. Some nice lady at church told Hailey she really liked her Easter dress. Hailey replied, " this is my wedding dress not my Easter dress!" You must know Hailey to know she said it with a little bit of attitude.

What is this?

Just 5 days ago I woke up to THIS!

Which makes me all the more excited to be heading to THIS!

I can't wait until kids are packed, laundry is done, lessons are changed, homework is gathered, etc. I am waiting for RELIEF once we hit the air! Wish me luck in staying away from any drug lords in Puerto Vallerta! I must come back to my kiddos!

FHE at its best

For FHE on Monday I decided to try a new idea that I had read in the Ensign. During General Conference the day before each child was supposed to write down three questions and keep the answers to himself. For FHE we would play a game and see who knew the answers. I knew this would be a work in progress, but if we continued at it maybe in the future we could have some good discussions. Actually I was surprised by how much the kids remembered when I thought they were just coloring and fighting. I have to share one of the questions that came from Cade.

What color was most of the speakers hair? His answer was white not gray.

We now have baby chicks living in a box under Cade's reading lamp in our family room. The kids have even named them, Butter & Peanut. They have been looking on line and have learned how to tell apart a boy and a girl. They have big plans for them but my plans will be to find them a home. I would hate to see what would happen if we actually lived out in the country with some land. Dave would be bringing home a different animal daily.

Ben & Britt did it!

We had a few days at home recovering from our CA trip then replaced our California clothes with some warm clothes and headed off to Utah for Ben & Britt's wedding. They were married in SLC temple by President Hinckley's son. He gave them some good advice that made us all laugh. He even gave Britt one last chance to leave while they were kneeling at the altar. We are glad she stayed and happy to have her as part of our family.

Most of the nieces and nephews on the Shirley side. We were missing Blake & Jennah's kids and Mike & Elise's kids. So add 5 more! 7 more if you count the 2 on the way!

Grandpa Shirley and boy cousins that Cade loves to see.

Ashley claims to have caught Britt's bouquet and her cousin Olivia claims that she caught it and it was taken out of her hands by the taller, longer armed Ashley. Beside that little bit of a brawl, the reception went smoothly. The kids were loving the dessert table as they had everything you could imagine. (I secretly was loving it too!)

What a gang! Hope you are ready for us Britt!

Weddings always cause me to reflect back on my own wedding 16 1/2 years ago. Wow that was along time ago. No wonder things have changed so much. I was young and really didn't care about all the wedding details. I just wanted to get married. Looking back that was probably a good thing because I didn't stress very much about the whole wedding thing. I do wish I would have gotten bridal pictures and better wedding pictures but at the time I didn't really even know brides did that. The one thing that hasn't changed and the most important thing for me was that I was able to get marrried in the temple for time and all eternity. I love Dave and am so grateful we have a family that can be together forever. The End.
