Tumbling

Hailey & Valerie ended up their tumbling year with a fun performance for the whole family to watch!  Valerie loves to be in charge and loved leading her little group out onto the floor.  She just barely got her back kick over last week and was so excited!  She acts so mature that I was shocked to see how little she really is when she was out on the floor with all those hundreds of tumblers!  Hailey continues to be the girl with no fear.  In one of her passes she did a back whip followed by 4 back handsprings.  She makes it look effortless!

Temple Square

Since we had an unplanned extra day without church clothes we decided to take the kids to temple square.  We were able to go take a tour of the conference center and see everywhere from the very top.  What a beautiful Mother's Day to have all of us together by the temple!

Lagoon

We made Lagoon for clogging a FAMILY affair.  Ashley performed her duet on Friday and her other 3 dances on Saturday.  This required us to stay in a hotel which the kids were so excited about!  Mainly because we had a pool to go swimming in at the hotel. We were at Lagoon at 10 am and didn't leave until 11pm.  We spent the day with our friends the Pages.  It worked out great as they have 6 kids the same ages and sex as our kids.  Each kid had a friend to hang out with!   We ended the day at In and Out Burger at 1130pm.  We were then planning on heading home but ended up going the complete opposite direction and surprised Grandma and Grandpa Shirley!

Ty loved this ride!
Of course it is a car that moves!

We (the parents) were laughing so hard as these guys came running back from hassling some geese and her new babies.  Their faces especially Ty were pure terror after the geese hissed at them.

Hailey loved ALL the intense scary roller coasters!  She couldn't get enough even though she was only 7 and barely tall enough.  She went on the ROCKET which shoots you way up in the air and then you free fall.  She thought that was so not scary compared to the little kid ride that was 1/4 of its size.  She said, "on the little kid ride you didn't know if you were going to go up or down so it was more scary!"

Time of year

It is that time of year when all activities are coming to an end for summer break.  Ashley has been clogging since she was 4.  She loves the loud music and fast moving feet but hates having me french braid her hair for performances (you would think I would be better at it by now!  Thank goodness for our friend Mel!)  In the past month she has had her year end recital, competed in Pocatello, and nationals at Lagoon.  She even performed her duet at the school talent show.  She has a knack for performing in front of people.

This year she performed 4 dances.
Above is the 7th grade boy/girl class. She was partners with Conner Hansen.

Shaundalee Morgan (of the Fab 5 on America's Got Talent) is their teacher and choreographed their dance.

Swing With Me
Ashley got recruited to this class because they were short in numbers.
She got recruited to dance the boy part. It was kind of funny
that she is taller and stronger than all the boys for NOW!
Kierra was her partner.  Ashley swung her around all over the place.

Ashley, Sydney, & Kierra all did their backhandsprings at the end of the China Dance.

All Boy!

Ty loves trucks and cars!  In fact he has to have them all lined up in his crib just right in order to go to sleep.  I hear him in there playing forever before he finally falls asleep.  Not only does he like little cars but he likes his battery operated jeep and his sisters battery operated Barbie jeep.  He has been found cruzing around on the main road out of our subdivision a few times this past month.  He has caused quite a scare!  I don't know if people have been more shocked seeing a little boy in underwear only in a pink jeep or seeing a toy jeep driving on the road with a little boy who looks like he is supposed to be there! He has no sense of boundaries.  He runs and never stops or hops on a jeep and doesn't look back.  We have tried several different ideas to lock him inside.  He has destroyed child protector covers from right off our knobs.  Thankfully, nice people have found him and notified us and he has not been injured!  I must say I am scared to leave him at home with anyone anymore when I'm gone.  I don't like getting phone calls that ask, "Where is Ty?"

It has been brought to my attention that I should pin a note to his back or get an alert bracelet that says, "RETURN TO OWNER"  and has my number on it.  Seriously, that is not a bad idea but if I did that I would already be admitting that I am going to lose him!  Because of this recent problem, the whole family has made an effort to teach him how to answer the questions, "What is your name?" and "How old are you?"  He gets the answers to the questions backwards sometimes.   When someone asks his name he will say 2!  He also know how to spell his name so sometimes when asked his name he replies by spelling it T Y.

Hooray!  Ty is potty trained. 2 years and 4 months!  He is still not potty trained at night although last night he was dry all night.  Hopefully that is a sign of what is to come!  No more buying diapers for my kiddos ever again!

I love this kid!
I found him coming in from the garage with a bike helmet on backwards
and fuzzy socks for his hands that were obviously cold!

Way to go QUEENS OF THE COURT taking the GOLD Championship 2 weeks in a row!

This year my friend from Minico and I decided to each make our own 5th and 6th grade teams because of traveling issues.  We still stayed good friends with our rivals, The Itsy Bitsy Spikers!  Mikayla played on the 5th grade team even though she is still in 4th grade.  For our final tournament she came and played with the 6th graders.  We practiced 2 times a week for 2 months and then played in 4 tournaments on Saturdays.  The girls improved a lot and had lots of fun!
