End of Year Stuff

May always brings the close of activities and the excitement for summer (if it would stop snowing and blowing). Hailey however, is sad that preschool and tumbling are over. She has kept busy with Valerie putting together every puzzle we own. She is also starting to read and can't seem to get enough of it. Not too long ago I was wondering if she would ever care to start learning letters.

Hailey sang a solo for her preschool program. She sang the chorus to "I'm proud to be an American." She did so good and even sang on pitch (of course I'm a little partial). It even brought a tear to my eye.

I went on the last preschool field trip to PARTY HARDY as a parent helper. I even got to bounce in the houses and go down the slides with the kiddos.

Valerie is learning just as fast as Hailey. She was recently caught writing on her bed. Hmmm wonder who wrote that??? Too bad its in PEN!

I think we have had one nice day where the temperature hit the 60's. The kids made sure to take full advantage. Too bad the next day we were back to wearing coats. (Hailey, Jemma, Conner, Valerie)

This last Saturday Ashley had a clogging competition at Lagoon. I stayed home with the 3 younger kids due to the cold weather and Dave took the 3 older kids and a couple of Cade's friends. There are no pics of Cade, Skylar, and Will as they vanished in a hurry.

Ash really loves performing. She is one of the smaller ones dancing because she is in 4th grade and the rest of the team are 6th graders.

Sundays

I used to not really like Sundays as a child (too boring) but things sure do change. I look forward to Sundays each week (not Sunday mornings!) but the days. Sunday mornings are a battle trying to get 6 kids ready alone and out the door by 9am, but the days I treasure. Most often I am spiritually rejuvinated at church and then I love the family time we get to spend together. There is no competing places for us to be but together. We enjoy eating together, walks, and last night we played a fun dance game on the Wii that got everybody movin and shakin!

Dave recently surprised me with a new table that seats 8! He was at a campout when the delivery guys came to my door and said they had a delivery for my neighbor and asked if I could keep it in my garage. Come to find out it was mine! Yesterday I made everybody stay seated around the table even though I was the only one who still needed to eat! I love it. Bring on the placemats and the coasters! (Let's face it I am a little paranoid to actually use it!)

What big eyes you have!

The girls keep asking when Ty is going to grow into his eyes. He is really starting to chunk out but his eyes are still the first thing people notice.

Treated like a Queen!

What a wonderful day! Valerie's dream came true this past Sunday! She got to go up with the primary to sing during church and wasn't escorted back to her seat! She didn't know all the words to the songs but the parts she knew she made sure everyone could hear her loud and clear! She could not stop smiling while up on the stand. When she came down I told her she did a marvelous job. She said, "I sang really loud and smiled lots because Sister Jeppson (singing leader) said to." I'm sure she didn't tell her to jump up and down and nearly topple over the stand but then again Valerie could not contain her excitement.

I feel so blessed to be a mother to 6 wonderful children (Ty was asleep during pic, which means I got a nap). I was awoke to a feast of crab, shrimp, french fries, salad, and vegies. Home made cards and a walk with the family including Chandra topped off the day!

I am also very grateful for my mom (above) and Dave's mom (below). What an inspiration they are to me! Thanks for always believing in me.
