Shirley Family Reunion

August 1st we headed down to Pleasant Grove to be with all the Shirleys! We do have quite the bunch. It worked out well that Rad & Wendy live next door to Grandma & Grandpa Shirley. We had plenty of space and the kids all enjoyed sleeping outside in tents. The kids were continually entertained with crafts, games, picnics, water fights, and 4 piniata's! The adults enjoyed visiting and eating all of Grandma Shirley's great food! Sunday was a special day because we all got to attend Lucca's baby blessing and hear from Grandma and Grandpa Shirley about some of our ancestors they have been researching. We even managed to have family pictures one evening. That is close to 25 grandchildren and 19 adults!

With that many people beware of all the pics to come!

One evening we rented the city pool. We had perfect weather and no line for the water slides! Hailey has become so much braver in the water since taking 1 week of swimming lessons. She will even put her face under water now! Valerie will do whatever Hailey will do and sometimes more.

The waterfight is looked forward to all year. Everyone can't wait to see what Uncle Ben will come up with next. He always has fun toys to share and the farthest and most powerful shooting guns/tools. The water felt good to all as we were melting with the temperature in the 100's.

We, and I do mean all 25 grandchildren and 19 adults, went on a hike up the canyon to a waterful! It was about 1 mile each way and everybody made it. (I take that back, we let Kristen who was recovering from a c-section stay home with her 3 week newborn).

The kids all crossed the waterful in search of a geo-cash??? This was something new to me but they loved using Uncle Nate's navigator to find treasures.

Turbulent waters do not call for flip-flops. Ashley lost one crossing the waterful but luckily Uncle Rad fetched it!

Dirty faces!

One day some of the sister-in-laws did sneak away for a bit of shopping and dinner. Michelle showed me a great new home decor store that I will be adding to my list of places to go when I go to Utah. I don't know how thrilled that will make Dave but I love new finds!
