Missionaries

Our family has become big fans of the Spanish Missionaries and Margarita. Elder Larsen and Elder Mander (above) have been coming over every week to teach Margarita in our home for the past few months. We have enjoyed feeding them, making treats for them, playing games with them, and listening to them share their sweet testimonies. Elder Mander was transferred right after Thanksgiving and then we have got to meet Elder O.  (I can't say or remember his last name)

The missionaries have been a great example to our kids especially Cade.  It has been a blessing to have them in our home so often.

We just found out last night Elder Larsen is being transferred.  We feel sad to have him go but no he is needed elsewhere.  Last evening they came over and he made our family dinner for a change.  He made us toast with the center cut out and an egg cooked in the middle.  It was a hit!

In December Margarita was baptized and confirmed a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Dave was able to baptize her and we were all able to be present.  She only speaks Spanish and I only speak English so it has been a challenge to talk but we have been able to enjoy each other.  Margarita is a widow and loves little kids. She has tried for weeks to get Ty to hug her but he was always scared.  On her baptism day he called out her name, "Margarita and ran and gave her a BIG hug."  They have been buddies every since.  I don't think he is too fond of the kissing though.  Hugs will do!
The missionaries were able to spend all of Christmas Day with us.  Our family loved it, especially the older kids.  We all played so many games.  We had a big breakfast and then didn't even have our big Christmas dinner because we were all involved wtih games!
